• Will trace the action/s of the artists involved
When the sun rises
We clean your clothes
Cook your meals
Walk your dogs
Meet and greet you with watermelon smiles
We teach your children
We ask politely “would you like cheese with that?”
We follow your orders
We tidy your mess
We munch our way through your layer cake of shit
And still, we say “have a nice day.”
But once the moon bypasses the vanishing sun
The Interplay begins, conspiring to
Free Play
Horseplay
Byplay
Teamplay
You can clean your own clothes
Cook your own meals
Walk your own dogs
No greetings await you here
It no longer pays to be polite
Your orders fall on deaf ears
And the mess accumulates
How does (sh)it taste?
….
Your children will learn the truth of this (de)structure
But the sun must return
And you must send your orders for clean clothes, meals, pets cared for and the like.
And if we do not take them on, someone else will.
But remember
We are alive
We are functioning
We are capable
We will prevail
“I see all this potential, and I see squandering.
God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars.
Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don’t need.
We’re the middle children of history.
No purpose or place.
We have no Great War.
No Great Depression.
Our Great War’s a spiritual war… our Great Depression is our lives.
We’ve all been raised on television to believe that one day we’d all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars.
But we won’t.
And we’re slowly learning that fact.
And we’re very, very pissed off.” –TD
The Exhibition
